Juvéderm® Turns Up the Volume

Everyone always focuses on wrinkles when it comes to facial aging. But when you get right down to it, volume loss is more telling. Don’t believe that?Look at photos of your parents or others at age 30 and then at 60. You may be able to make out some of the deeper creases, but what really shows is the sunken cheeks, drooping around the mouth, thinning lips, and other signs of volume loss. Plus, decreasing volume due to collagen loss and sun damage allows more wrinkles to form. Double whammy.

What is Juvéderm®?
If you’re checking out our blog at Skin & Cosmetic Solutions, you’ve surely heard of hyaluronic acid. It is a naturally occurring substance in the bodies of humans (and most other mammals) that is responsible for binding with water molecules under the skin to hydrate, plump, and firm the skin.

- Juvéderm® XC
When you’re making an aside in your writing parentheses come in handy, but on your face they are not welcome. These are the creases that form at the sides of your mouth, and resemble parentheses. Juvéderm® XC fills out these and smile lines, the lines that run from the nose down to the corners of the mouth. You hear about all sorts of “anti-aging” serums and creams, but they only moisturize the skin’s surface. Juvéderm® XC adds volume beneath the skin to smooth these lines and folds.
- Juvéderm® Voluma XC
Dr. Puente may call it “age-related midface volume loss;” you call it sagging cheeks. Over time as you lose the collagen to support your skin and as your underlying muscles weaken, your cheeks flatten. Juvéderm® Voluma XC is designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface to lift and contour the cheek area. Plump cheeks are generally considered to be a tenet of a younger look.
- Juvéderm®Volbella XC
This addition to the Juvederm family is relatively new, coming on the market in the summer of 2016. Volbella XC is tailored to add subtle volume to the lips and smooth the appearance of vertical lip lines.
How long does Juvéderm® last?
All four Juvéderm® formulations are long lasting. Plus, future injections usually need less product to achieve the same results.
- Juvéderm®Voluma XC provides the longest-lasting hyaluronic acid filler results, restoring cheek volume for up to two years.
- Juvéderm®XC treats the wrinkles and lines around your mouth for up to one year.
- Juvéderm®Volbella XC adds subtle volume for one year, with 80 percent of people treated reporting improved satisfaction with their lips one year after treatment.
