BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, non-surgical procedure that temporarily reduces forehead lines, brow lines, crow’s feet and other areas on the face and neck. It consists of a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium that smoothes muscles by blocking nerve impulses.
A few tiny BOTOX® injections administered during a simple 5-minute procedure block the release of acetylcholine, a chemical that causes muscles to contract. With less movement, the skin surface gradually smoothes out and lines fade. Results vary, but patients typically notice improvement within a few days and the results last up to four months.
