At Raleigh Dermatology and Skin & Cosmetic Solutions, it is our goal to treat patients with utmost respect while providing quality medical care.
“One is not born into the world to do everything, but to do something.” These words from poet, writer and philosopher Henry David Thoreau underscore the importance of community service and compassion for others. At Raleigh Dermatology and Skin & Cosmetic Solutions, we’re committed to making the Triangle and beyond a better place to live, one donation at a time.
Each September, Dr. Puente and his wife, Carol, cycle 150 to 200 miles in the MS 150 Bike Tour, a two-day cycling event in New Bern that raises money for patients suffering from multiple sclerosis. The Puentes have raised several thousand dollars and also provided a rest stop for riders during this event.
In 2006, Raleigh Dermatology and Skin & Cosmetic Solutions contributed to the following fundraisers and/or special events: Tabernacle Baptist Church’s fundraiser for children of Belarus; Re/Max United’s Children’s Miracle Network Golf Classic; Cardinal Gibbons High School’s “Jest Do It” spring fundraiser; the Literacy Council of Wake County’s “Black and White and Read Allover” auction; Saint Mary’s School’s “Fly Me to the Moon” auction; the SPCA’s Fur Ball; and the Raleigh Police Department’s benefit for Detective Greg Baker.
In 2007, Raleigh Dermatology and Skin & Cosmetic Solutions contributed toward Our Lady of Lourdes’ auction benefit; Cardinal Gibbons High School’s winter fundraiser, “Lights, Camera, Action”; Saint Mary’s School’s “Fly Me to the Moon” auction; and the SPCA’s Fur Ball. We purchased a $2,500 sponsorship for the News & Observer’s “Feed the Need” fundraiser for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, and a $1,000 sponsorship for the American Cancer Society’s Red Sword Guild Gala and Raleigh Roundup.
We celebrated our Spring Open House 2009 with a focus on “National Skin Cancer” Month, contributing a portion of our earnings to the National Melanoma Society. We have also contributed to WRAL’s “Coats for the Children” drive by donating funds and collecting coats, and we helped the “Interact” shelter for women collect items for women who were starting a home.
We continue our support of many of the mentioned charities and look forward to continuing our community service efforts in 2010 and beyond.
